Draka in the UK has today announced that the company has acquired all inventories of house wiring cables from Manchester based B3 Cable Solutions.

Following a strategic review of all of its business operations, B3 has ceased production of house wiring cables with effect from April 5th 2007 and has reached agreement with Draka who will distribute all products from its own warehouses from Tuesday April 10th 2007.

B3 Chief Operating Officer, Mark Williams commented, “The decision to withdraw from the manufacture of house wiring cables has been made after detailed consideration of the market and the competitive nature of the business”.

“We believe that Draka is better suited to support customers, utilising their comprehensive distribution network to satisfy the future customer service expectations for these products,” he said.

The move represents a significant investment for Draka and underpins their strategy for continued growth, as Managing Director, Ronnie George confirmed:

“Draka is building significant momentum within UK markets as a leading manufacturer of a wide range of high quality cable products.  Our commitment to provide customers with the ultimate product choice and service solution is significantly enhanced by the acquisition of the B3 house wiring portfolio”.

“The complete B3 house wiring inventory will be available through the usual Draka sales channels from today. We welcome enquiries from existing B3 customers, for whom we are determined to provide a superior service experience which they can trust to enhance their operations”, Ronnie added.
