Derby-based cable manufacturer, Draka, has appointed John Imeson as Utilities and Infrastructure Sales Manager. In this newly created post he will be responsible for the sale of the company’s medium voltage cables into the electrical distribution, power generation, road, rail and airport sectors, reporting directly to Kevin Samuel, Managing Director – Sales & Marketing.
This latest development at Draka further strengthens what the company believes is the industry’s most experienced and knowledgeable sales team. Prior to joining Draka, John spent seven years with Prysmian, where his experience embraced low and high voltage cables, and the industrial and maintenance sectors. At Draka, he will initially focus his attention on building closer relationships with key utility and infrastructure companies and on providing cabling solutions to meet each sector’s specific requirements.
Commenting on his appointment, John said: “Draka is already a major supplier of cable to the rail and airport sectors, having recently provided cabling for Heathrow’s new Terminal 5, St Pancras Station and the HS1 high-speed rail link and the Docklands Light Railway extension from King George V station to the new Woolwich Arsenal station.” He continued: “Draka has an unrivalled product offering and a great team of people. The company also has a superb reputation in the marketplace for quality and reliability.”
